Samsung May Compete With Chinese Brands Through Quick Charging Technology: Details Inside

Samsung’s upcoming flagship Galaxy phone is expected to receive a significant charging upgrade. Consumers who invest in a high-end phone would typically anticipate top-of-the-line features, and while Samsung has played it safe in terms of charging capabilities, reports indicate that the next Galaxy S24 Ultra model may offer a substantial boost with potential support for 65W charging in wired mode.

Samsung has been weary of tweaking battery technology significantly since the debacle of the Galaxy Note 7 model years ago. But it seems that the South Korean brand is now introducing a stacked battery formula to improve the charging speed of the high-end phone.

The battery unit has a cooling gel that should handle any overheating issues that a flagship device can cause a consumer. Another benefit of installing this battery is that the phone becomes more durable due to its shock resistance and even reduces battery swelling.

Most people would be excited to see an upgrade on the charging front from Samsung, which has stuck with 45W charging speeds on most of its premium devices, including the Galaxy Z Fold lineup. It still doesn’t compare to the charging technology of most Chinese brands that offer you speeds of up to 200W on certain models these days. But it’s great to see Samsung moving on this front.

According to reports, Samsung has a limited supply of this battery configuration, which means it would only be available on higher-end models like the Galaxy S24 Ultra and even the Galaxy S24+ when they launch next year.

These updates could have a direct impact on the selling price of these phones, which should easily be lower than what Apple could command for the iPhone 15 Pro later this year. But for now, Samsung is busy planning its next-generation foldable model, which will be unveiled at a launch event in Korea later this month. The company could bring a number of products to the event, including the new Galaxy Tab S series tablet and the new Galaxy Watch 6 series.
